Chancellor ARU Hon. Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi Tips Graduates to dynamics in Science, Technology and Innovations for Global change.

African Rural University has today held its 9^th Graduation Ceremony, as seven Students graduated with Bachelor’s degree in rural Development.

The colorful ceremony held at African Rural University’s campus in Kagadi Town council Kagadi district has been presided over by the University Chancellor Hon. Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi.

In his address to the congregation before conferring the degrees onto the Grandaunts, Hon. Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi said that since its inception, ARU has been able to produce 91 graduates including this year’s cohort.

He committed to the public of African Rural University’s zeal towards keeping at per with the day to day dynamics in Science, Technology and Innovations so as to meet the rapid Global changes and also to keep the university’s products relevant in the field of work.

Justice Ezekiel tipped grandaunts to explore the existing opportunities in the field of work by applying the skills and Knowledge acquired from ARU so as to cause positive change onto people’s lives.

Addressing the congregation, the Chief Guest Dr. Babikwa Jonathan Daniel the Director, District Support Coordination and Public Education –National Environment Authority has cautioned graduates against the vices of corruption and environmental degradation.

Dr. Babikwa has commended ARU for its holistic teaching programs dedicated towards creating all round graduates with skills and knowledge of problem solving to create and promote sustainable development starting with rural communities.

In his speech, Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe the Vice Chancellor for African Rural University congratulated the grandaunts for the great milestone of graduating from being students to now Rural Transformation Specialists.

He challenged Graduates to emulate the late Joyce Mpanga the former ARU council chairperson by championing the cause of women emancipation agenda in their field of work

Meanwhile excited with joy, the graduates who spoke to KKCR attributed the milestone attained towards hard work and perseverance with optimism to deliver their best in the communities.

They thanked the various stakeholders who have enabled them attain this success.

The Graduation ceremony was honored by the members of the University Council, Buyaga East MP Hon. Eric Musana, distinguished Educationists, University Staff members and other partners.

The function kicked off with the laying of a foundation stone onto the African rural University Library and Multipurpose Resource Centre.

The most painful sad story of accident in Kagadi has claimed 15 people who were traveling from burial in  Kyenjojo to Kagadi.

The Albertine police spokes person Julius allans hakiza has confired the incident saying they are stil compiling the particulars of the deacesed.

In the wee hours of Sunday,our sources told KAGADI TV UG  that the tragedy came in after a Trailer  that was from Kagadi heading to portal lost control in a sharp corner where a tax from kyenjojo after Muzizi bridge near kyamutunzi TC  lamed into it with no person left on breathing.

The particulars of the  trailer are not yet known and the driver has took off, Tax driver one Henry(ACAALI) and all passengers all died.

Acoording to the eye witness have identified some of the body of the deceased as Kubanza 32 ,Ruth 30,Nuulu 29 both of Kyatika cell in kagadi towm council Kagadi District.

The fatal accident that involved a cargo track carrying Mukene registration No UAD 431Q and a tax No UBM 426V has claimed live of 16 people and others critically injured on Kagadi-Kyenjojo road in Nyanseke- Muhorro town council Kagadi District.

However, the eye witnesses have attributed the accident to the tracker driver who lost control after failing to break and ended up knocking the tax.

Most of the dead are residents of Kagadi town council who were on there way  from burial in Fort portal however, by press time were not yet identified by the manes.

Residents says it is not the first time accident to happen at the same place adding that many people have died on said spot corner.

By press time Police was at the scene and the survivors were rushed to Muhorro community health center. 

Out of the five people who survived only one person was from the tax and the remaining four were occupants of the tracker who all survived.

Special Needs children post better UCE results

Uganda is a signatory to the international agreements/commitments that provide for learners with special needs. One example of such instruments that bind those agreements is the Salamanca Statement and Framework for Action on Special Needs 1994.

The UCE results for 2022 released today reveal that in the category of Low Vision, 41 of the 154 candidates who sat for the exams passed in division one, 38 in division two, 35 in division three and 39 in division four. Only one student got division nine. 

The physically handicapped category had 179 students and 22 of them passed in division one,  32 in division two,  41 in division three,  65 in division four, while 19 failed.

The deaf category had 120 students; five passed in division one , 10 in division two, 10 in division three, 74 in division four and  21 got division in nine.

In the Dyslexic category, four of the 66 candidates passed in division one, six in division two, 18 in division three,  30 in division four and eight in division nine.

In the blind category, 13 out of 46 students passed in division two, 11 in division three, 16 in division four, and four in division nine.
