Roadside market vendors along the newly tarmacked Mubende-Kakumiro-Kibaale-Kagadi road are reaping big from the sales being made from the increasing travelers.

KAGADI TV UG reporters made a sample survey on monday along the road where residents established roadside markets and stalls at Buseesa-Hakasalaba, Hakabanda, and Kaisenkenkere among others trading centres.

Most of them are selling vegetables, fruits, Matooke, charcoal, Irish and sweet potatoes among other food stuffs.

There are over 40 vendors who are operating on daily basis on the stretch from Kibaale town to Busesa–Hakasalaba where we found a one Nyamaizi Neoline, a vendor and also the chairperson who told us that she sales food substance  to people bearing to Kampala which has improved her livelihood.

Nyamaizi said “averagely when I open up my stall a day I make sale daily income of sh50, 000 to sh100,000 in this covid-19 pandemic crisis and by the way this tarmac has changed my life”.

Vendors at Hakabanda trading center, say that following the construction of the road they now have daily income of between 50,000 to 100,000 shillings from daily sales.

Kibaale district woman MP Noeline Basemera says that men should also join the creative and hardworking women who have taken the majority to establish stalls along the road.
It is important to remember that President Museveni on several visits to Bunyoro always encourage the community to utilize the tarmacked roads to earn more through selling their agricultural products because more people are going to come since Bunyoro is the Oil base and most of the tarmac roads are oil roads.
