MP Barnabas asks greater Mpeefu residents to be calm on their land, says no one will evict them

Leaders of Mpeefu pressure group on land issues have declined to attend a meeting that was organized by the area members of parliament and the Kagadi district RDC Lillian Ruteraho at Kagadi modal P/S in Kagadi town council Kagadi district to discuss the way forward in re-dressing the land conflicts in greater Mpeefu in Kagadi district.

This follows the warning letter signed by Ssentimba and Company Advocates owned by land title owners threatening to evict residents in greater Mpeefu Sub County in ultimatum of 45 day.

Speaking to KAGADI TV UG after the meeting, Hon Barnabas Tinkasimiire the Buyaga West legislator has asked residents of greater Mpeefu Sub County to be calm on their land assuring them that no one will evict them.

Barnabas promises that he is ready to finance lawyers to stand in court with whoever attempts to evict residents on their lands.

Hon Barnabas has dismissed allegations being spread by his political rivals that he owns a land title in Mpeefu greater.

He clarifies that his land of about 01 Square mile is located in Mukikazi- Buraza and he acquired it in lawful procedures.

The Kagadi district RDC Mrs. Lillian Ruteraho and Hon Jennifer Mbabazi have asked residents to be calm on their lands, carry on with their economic activities that their issues are known by President Yoweri Museven, the government and no one will evict them.

Members in attendance have resolved to have another meeting on 26th Aug, 2020 at Mpeefu sub county headquarters Kasojo to discuss on the same matter.

The function was also graced by Hon Nkwasibwe Robert Birahure the Mpeefu sub county Lc3 chairperson also member of the pressure group, Hon Mbusa Andrew the Mpeefu sub county district councilor, Hon Julius Twesigye aka Urban Masasi the Mpeefu ya Sunday town council district councilor hopeful among others.
