Residents of Kagadi town council, Kagadi District on Friday morning have demonstrated over increased dust that is emanating from the construction of the roads and streets around Kagadi town in Kagadi district.
The protesters blocked the connecting roads to Kagadi Main Street including Kyengaaju Street and Kabalega road over increased dust.
According residents, they are over taken by the increased dust and their businesses are perishing mostly those who have boutiques and food vendors along the street.
Residents say, the government provided a water boozer to the district but they have failed to use it to water the roads that are under construction.
Meanwhile, Geoffrey Businge the LC3 Chairperson Kagadi Town council says has communicated to the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) under taking the tamaking of streets in Kagadi town to water the road regularly.
He says this has happened because another sub-contractor who took over CCCC has delayed to take over. He has threatened to join residents in the demonstration if they fail to respond immediately.
Meanwhile responding to resident’s outcry, the environmental officer CCCC Raymond Makune asked residents to be patient promising to water the road under construction regularly.
