Man Commits Suicide after Quarrel with Wife in Kibaale

Police in Kibaale district is investigating circumstances under which a 25-year-old man committed suicide.

Apollo Bukenya a resident of Kihoro village Karama sub county Kibaale district, was today morning found hanging dead from the roof of his house.

David Otabong, the DPC Kibaale, says preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased, father of one child committed suicide after he picked a quarrel with his wife last night.

Ruth Kabaweza, the deceased’s wife, narrates that Bukenya returned yesterday night when he was extremely drunk and in a few minutes he picked a quarrel attempting to beat her.


She adds that she sensed danger when the deceased started searching for a panga that prompted her to flee to a neighbor’s place where she spent the night but on return in the morning only to find Bukenya’s body dangling inside their house.

 

Residents of Kihoro village in Karama Sub County say that for a long time, the deceased had been known for being a quiet man however much he could take alcohol.


After police authorization, the deceased’s relatives buried his body today afternoon and later demolished the semi-permanent house.
